KIMS Hospitals felicitates blood donors on occasion of World Blood Donors Day

Celebrating the upcoming World Blood Donors Day (June 14), Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Secunderabad (KIMS) organized a felicitation ceremony at their campus. All the donors who came forward to donate blood at these tough times of Lockdown due to corona were felicitated by the hospital management.
Bharathkanth Reddy. R Y, COO, KIMS Hospitals, distributed the mementos and thanked the efforts of the Blood Donors who stood Inspirational to others.
Dr Krishna Kumar, Cardiac Surgeon and Dr Radhika Chowdary, Chief of laboratories graced the felicitation ceremony.
Talking during the occasion, Dr Krishna Kumar thanked the Media and Celebrities for their participation and awareness about Safe Blood Donation during this pandemic. He said that the blood donated helps meet the medical needs of vulnerable people and Hospitals need blood supplies more than ever as the donor count has decreased drastically due to onset of corona.
Dr Hitesh Kumar, Transfusion Medicine Consultant, KIMS Hospitals, said, “During the initial period of the current COVID-19 pandemic, donors were apprehensive due to the false information and were reluctant to donate blood. Thanks to the blood donors who came forward during those times, now people are coming forward understanding the need for voluntary blood donation even when the danger of Covid-19 Pandemic is still ongoing.”
