13-year-old relieved from severe spinal deformation called scoliosis

Hyderabad, 29th April 2022: Congenital scoliosis is a painful problem in children. Along with physical deformity, social taboo also suffers a lot. Dr K. "An NIA officer brought his 13-year-old son to KIMS Hospitals Kondapur, to show his scoliosis problem. They said it is congenital. Examinations revealed hemivertebrae in the dorsal spine with scoliotic deformity. There are no other intraspinal abnormalities. So, we decided to correct the abnormality with a surgical procedure. The surgery was most successful. It includes complete excision of the deformed bone and fusion of the spine to correct the deformity. These are very complex surgeries involving high-risk chances of neurological injury and life risk also. The entire procedure was done under intraoperative neural monitoring. Now the patient is pain-free and walking after the above procedures.”
