Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital Marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Employee Engagement and Educational Program
Hyderabad, October 15, 2025: Every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as a global reminder of the importance of early detection and women’s health. In line with this, Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital successfully organized a special Breast Cancer Awareness and Employee Engagement Program on October 15 as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event aimed to promote early detection, preventive health practices, and create a culture of awareness among hospital staff.
The hospital premises were filled with shades of pink as employees came together in solidarity, dressed in pink attire — the global colour symbolizing breast cancer awareness. A major highlight of the event was the creation of a human chain in the shape of a ribbon, formed by hospital employees to represent unity, hope, and the collective fight against breast cancer.
Following this symbolic gesture, an awareness session was held in the afternoon for all women employees, including staff, housekeeping, and security personnel. The session featured insightful talks by eminent doctors, including Dr. Swapna Jilla, Dr. Harish Dara, Dr. Srinivasa Tejaswini and Dr. Ch. Srivalli, who emphasized the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and lifestyle modifications that can help reduce the risk of breast cancer.
As part of the session, the doctors also conducted a self-breast examination demonstration, guiding women on how to perform regular checks for early identification of any unusual changes. The initiative was designed to empower women with practical knowledge that can potentially save lives through timely action.
Speaking about the initiative,
Dr. Swapna Jilla, Consultant Radiation Oncology, MBBS, DNB (Radiation Oncology), added,
“Awareness is the most powerful tool in the fight against breast cancer. When women are informed about preventive care and self-examination, they become active participants in safeguarding their own health.”
Dr. Harish Dara, Consultant Surgical Oncologist, MBBS, MS, FMAS, DrNB (Surgical Oncology) at Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, said,
“Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, but early detection can make a significant difference in outcomes. Through awareness sessions like these, we aim to educate, encourage regular screening, and break the stigma surrounding discussions on breast health.”
The hospital’s management expressed pride in the strong participation from all departments, emphasizing the importance of such employee-driven initiatives. The event successfully reinforced Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital’s ongoing commitment to preventive healthcare and community well-being.
