It has been noticed that about 39 per cent of women aren’t active enough and more than 12 per cent are completely sedentary. Common exercise barriers include lack of time, lack of motivation, low income and parenting demands. Regular physical activity is vital for good physical and mental health. It helps improve your overall health and fitness, maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk for many chronic diseases and promote good mental health.
Wockhardt Hospitals Mumbai Central’s initiative for holding this cricket match was to make changes and to adopt a physical activity routine. A few minor changes to your daily lifestyle can also increase your physical activity level. Short trips, walking instead of taking the car, listening to your favourite music or the radio and dancing around the house; doing things yourself instead of using labour-saving machines, all contribute to your daily quota of necessary physical activity. Studies show that older people can achieve significant health benefits after just two to three months of regular exercise. As an added bonus, if you start being regularly active, your body will continue to benefit from exercise well into your 80s.
“In our busy world, women are always running out of time for fun, relaxation and meditation. Hence we took this opportunity to come together for an amazing time of fun and fitness,” said Dr. Rindani.
