With hardly few days left for Ramadan, a lot of us have already started planning for appetizers and meals for the holy month. After the day-long fast, The Iftar is no less than a feast and multiple snacks and delicacies are prepared throughout the month.
With Ramadan arriving in summers in India, hydration is the prime concern. Maintaining the fluid levels is very important while fasting as it can affect your health. â— Milk and Cardamom Shake: Cardamom is rich in various minerals and nutrients and when mixed with milk is a healthy remedy against gastrointestinal protection, cholesterol control, control of cancer, relief from cardiovascular issues, and the improvement of blood circulation in the body. The combination of milk and powdered cardamom is best consumed during Sehri as a means to combat thirst during Roza.

â— Raw Mango Juice: This is also called ‘Keri ka Panna’. Making this involves time and is made generally on a large scale. Boil unripe mangoes in a pressure cooker with immersing the unripe mangoes completely. Once they are nicely boiled and soft, let them cool. Remove the skin and the seed and extract as much pulp as possible. Add salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder and sugar syrup. Since this is a very thick liquid, you can store them in a plastic water bottle with the cap loose. After Iftar, you can pour half glass of this squash and dilute with half glass water. Add a dash of mint to add flavour.
