Rare spinal surgery for a three month old baby in KIMS Saveera Hospital

A three-month-old baby from a village in the Ap, Karnataka border region has been admitted to KIMS Saveera Hospital suffering from a strange spinal disease. The baby was examined by neurosurgeons Dr Rammohan Naik and Dr Rohit Reddy. They explained the severity of the disease it should be treated before the condition is worsening and the complications that may occur during the operation. The Baby's Parents agreed and then doctors completed the surgery to save the baby's life. The surgery was performed free of cost under the Arogyashree scheme.

 

After Successfully Completed the critical Surgery, Dr Rohit Reddy and Dr Rama Mohan Naik said that in young children, some types of genetic defects can cause tumours in the spine. The presence of these tumours in the nerves affects the function of the surrounding nerves due to the pressure exerted by the tumours. This can lead to leg cramps and uncontrolled urinary discharges.. they explained. Because of this, children will experience pain. same Situation here in the three months old baby, So that we performed Meningo-Myelosis surgery successfully to save the child's life the doctors added.  Now the baby is fully recovered and has returned to normal life.
