A CUP OF TEA IS ALRIGHT

As Indians, one activity that is common amongst all of us is the morning cup of tea or coffee. In fact, tea is so well celebrated in our country that it is spread through our entire day - with cups and cups being consumed. Psychologically, drinking tea and coffee feels great, but does it feel equally great to our teeth in particular or oral health in general? What is the effect of tea and coffee on teeth? Does it lead to discoloration?

 

It could lead to discoloration if one drinks too many cups of tea or coffee. But merely a cup or two with two times brushing of teeth everyday won't do any harm. Besides discoloration, there's also odor that will cause a problem. Extreme hot or cold nature of tea or coffee could damage the enamel.

 

But these days cups and cups of all kinds of tea and coffee is a lifestyle that people have adopted.

People have. But that's not healthy for one's oral wellness. Continuous cups of tea and coffee will dry the mouth. Dehydration of the mouth leads to bad odor and also bleeding of the gums. After one consumes tea or coffee, give a break of two minutes and drink some water to keep the mouth hydrated. Else, the condition could worsen to joint pain, thyroid imbalance andDiabetes.

 

The machine coffee and tea are even more harmful, because there is a high quantity of sugar in them. Such drinks are pre-fabricated.

 

Do carbonated beverages also harm the teeth?

 

Yes, they most definitely do. These are sugary drinks. Sugar plays a harmful role which leads to bacterial growth. The gums could also flare up.
