World Cancer Day 2026 Observed at Malla Reddy Narayana Hospital under the Theme “United by Unique

On the occasion of World Cancer Day 2026, observed under the global theme “United by Unique”, Malla Reddy Narayana Hospital organized a comprehensive cancer awareness and screening program focusing on early detection and individualized cancer treatment.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ch. Bhadra Reddy, Chairman, emphasized that cancer care must extend beyond treatment to include awareness, accessibility, and affordability. He highlighted that early diagnosis plays a crucial role in improving survival outcomes and stressed the responsibility of healthcare institutions in taking preventive healthcare initiatives to the community.

He further stated that the theme “United by Unique” reflects the hospital’s philosophy of cancer care—where every patient’s condition is unique, yet doctors, caregivers, and institutions stand united in providing compassionate and advanced treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Preeti Reddy, Vice Chairman, highlighted the urgent need for greater awareness among women regarding breast and cervical cancers. She encouraged women to overcome fear and hesitation and to prioritize regular screenings, stating that early detection can save lives and protect families. She also reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to women-centric healthcare and preventive oncology programs.

Senior doctors from the hospital spoke about the importance of early cancer screening, advancements in oncology, and the need for customized treatment protocols for different cancers, in line with the theme “United by Unique.”

As part of the World Cancer Day initiative, the Medical Director, Dr. Srinivas Rakesh Prabhu, along with the team of doctors, officially launched a Free Pap Smear and Mammogram Screening Package.
This free screening initiative will be available from 4th February 2026 to 11th February 2026, encouraging women to take proactive steps toward early detection of cervical and breast cancers.

The program concluded with a symbolic gesture where doctors, patients, and hospital staff together released pink helium balloons, symbolizing hope, unity, and collective commitment in the fight against cancer.

Malla Reddy Narayana Hospital reaffirmed its dedication to community health through continuous cancer awareness programs, preventive screenings, and advanced, patient-centric cancer care.
