1 August 2020, New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is looking to have a distinct identity in the form of Name, Logo and Tagline for the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM). For this, it is conducting an online contest on MyGov website, the Government’s citizen engagement platform, to seek creative suggestions and ideas from members of the general public.

Last Date of submission of entries is 6th August 2020 till 11.45 PM. The winning entries for Name, Logo and Tagline will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each.

NDHM is envisioned to create a national digital health ecosystem that supports universal health coverage in an efficient, accessible, inclusive, affordable, timely and safe manner, that provides a wide-range of data, information and infrastructure services, duly leveraging open, interoperable, standards-based digital systems, and ensures the security, confidentiality and privacy of health-related personal information.

The National Health Authority that is the apex implementation body for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), has been mandated to design, roll-out and implement the National Digital Health Mission of the Government of India.

Dr. Indu Bhushan, CEO, National Health Authority said“We have launched this contest as an open call to crowd-source suggestions from citizens to identify and select the most innovative name, logo and tagline that will be used to launch and establish the brand identity for NDHM. I invite and encourage all creative individuals to enter their ideas into this contest and make the most of this unique opportunity to be a part of building one of the largest participatory digital health ecosystems in the world.”

The implementation of NDHM is expected to significantly improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health service delivery overall and accelerate India’s progress towards achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3.8 of Universal Health Coverage.

Patients will be able to securely store and access their medical records (such as prescriptions, diagnostic reports and discharge summaries), and share them with health care providers to ensure appropriate treatment and follow-up. They will also have access to more accurate information on public and private health facilities and service providers, hence empower them with greater choice and informed decision-making. Further, they will have the option to access health services remotely through teleconsultation and e-pharmacy, among other range of benefits.
