The road to a clear skin can get easier with a healthy diet. Your face is a true reflection of the food you consume. Overproduction of oil on the surface of the skin causes dead skin cells to clump, and form acne or a pimple. A recent research by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) suggests that avoiding foods with high GIs may be more helpful than avoiding dairy products. Acne cannot be reduced only by cleaning your skin or exercising. Simple carbohydrates and more quality proteins, fruit and vegetables in your diet can prove magical for your skin. Try to eat smart and keep a vigilant eye on foods that cause occasional breakouts.
The perfect diet plan for Acne and other skin problems, muscle aches and tension, reduces the risk for low bone density and a weakened immune system. A diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids may reduce inflammation and improve symptoms of acne. According to the AAD, it can take up to 12 weeks for a dietary change to have a noticeable effect on the skin. Anything white or refined is something you want to avoid during the diet.

The best way to deal with acne is to avoid unhealthy saturated and trans fats, like those found in fried foods and processed baked goods, as these can trigger off an outbreak. Additionally, drinking recommended quantities of water is a must. Avoid fried and packaged products, and walk for 35 minutes per day.
