Anti obesity walk was conducted at KBR park under the banners of Star Hospitals Hyderabad and Rotary Club Hyderabad North. Over 200 school children and 150 adults participated during the walk at KBR park Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
The aim of the walk is to create awareness in obesity and how much it is important to have physical activity to keep yourself healthy.
Dr. Lakshmi Kanth (Dept of Gastroenterology) from Star hospitals, Hyderabad facilitated the event and talked about the beauty of the activity and how it can help preventing obesity.
WHO states that at least 2.8 million adults die every year on account of being over weight. 44% of diabetic cases, 23% of coronary heart disease cases, 7-41% cancer cases are attributable to obesity and over weight.
Rotarians Mr. Hari, Mr. Manikandan and lifestyle specialist Mr.Nadeem precided over the function and did exercise and walking along with the participants.
