6 Effective Home Remedies For Skin rashes

Skin rashes can occur on any body part. They’re usually caused by allergies, insect bites or excessive sweat. Here are some easy-to-use home remedies for treating skin rashes.

 

Olive Oil - Extra virgin olive oil soothes your skin and reduces itching. It helps heal your skin and accelerates skin renewal as it’s rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant.

 

Rub extra-virgin olive oil or a mixture containing equal parts of honey and olive oil onto your skin rash. Do this a few times a day till your rash heals completely. 

 

Another alternative is to mix a small amount of turmeric powder in olive oil. Apply this mixture on your rash two to three times every day.

 

Aloe-Vera - Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial properties. It relieves itching, soothes your skin and reduces redness. 

 

Get your hands on some fresh Aloe Vera gel. Spread it on the part of your skin that’s affected by rashes. Leave the gel should on your skin for a minimum of 20 minutes.  Rinse it off afterwards. Repeat this procedure at least thrice a day till the rash clears.

 

Cold Compresses - Cold compresses can be useful in reducing rashes, particularly those caused by insect bites and heat. They help in reducing inflammation and swelling, ease itching, and are particularly helpful if you feel that the rash is beginning to develop into blisters.

 

Neem - Neem is highly effective in treating skin rashes due to its antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant and analgesic (pain-killing) properties. It also rejuvenates your skin cells because of its antioxidant properties.

 

Boil neem leaves in water for about 15-20 minutes.

 

Soak a cotton ball in the strained solution and apply it to the affected area for a minimum of ten minutes.

 

Repeat this procedure 3-4 times in a day over the course of a few days.

 

You can also apply neem cream or lotion on your rash.

 

Coriander - Coriander possesses soothing antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

 

Prepare a paste out of coriander leaves by grinding them. Apply this paste on the area affected by rashes and let it remain in place for at least 30 minutes.

 

Wash the paste off after half an hour.

 

Follow this procedure once or twice daily for a few days. In addition, you can also drink coriander juice over a period of time to help your skin rashes heal.

 

Oatmeal - Oatmeal has soothing anti-inflammatory properties. It’s an excellent home remedy for treating skin irritation due to rashes caused by allergies, sunburn and eczema.

 

Grind oatmeal in a food processor or blender. Mix one cup of the ground oatmeal in warm water. Soak your skin rash in this water for a minimum of 15-20 minutes. Repeat this daily till the rash disappears.
