Hyderabad, 4th February 2019 : To commemorate World Cancer Day, the Nursing students of KIMS College of Nursing organized an awareness programme on cancer. A street play was conducted by the students at B block, KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad on Monday, February 4 at 10 am. Fifteen students from third year Nursing have performed this street play in the form of Burra Katha - A folk storytelling art. This awareness program was organized with an aim to sensitize and educate people about this dreadful disease.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Mary, Faculty says, “Our aim is to educate people about this silent killer. We say that this is a silent killer as it affects the patient and their family slowly and silently. We want everyone to be sure about the symptoms, so they can get medical attention in the early stages. In our play, we are talking about symptoms, causes, and prevention of cancer.”
