Hyderabad, 26th July 2018: Buoyed by the favourable response received from ‘Swachh Gandhi’ Campaign in the first 6 months of operations, Helping Hand Foundation is now collaborating with Osmania General Hospital to improve the hygiene and sanitation in the hospital.
Leveraging the best practices from the experience gained at Gandhi Hospital, volunteers of the NGO, along with the hospital staff, will engage and sensitize the patients, attendants and other healthcare workers through a well-structured program.
The campaign will cover relevance of personal hygiene including good hand-washing methods, waste disposal, sanitation, anti-littering measures, and preventing diseases from spreading by restricting number of attendants and children in IP wards.
Dr. B. Nagender, Superintendent, OGH, formally launched the program and spoke about its significance as a collaboration to improve hygiene in the hospital.
15 Volunteers from HHF, along with sanitation staff of OGH will visit the IP wards and waiting areas of the hospital daily between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily to sensitize various target groups within the hospital.
The volunteers will be equipped with garbage bags, brooms and other cleaning material to clean the hospital wards and open areas, as it drives a sense of responsibility in keeping the hospital premises clean, according to Mr. Mujtaba Hasan Askari, HHF.
Feedback will be collected and shared with the hospital’s administration for improvements that are required from the patient’s perspective.
