Marking a major landmark in its ongoing success story, DocsApp, the leading chat-based healthcare platform that connects patients to specialist doctors in just 30 minutes, has crossed one million consultations in India. Apart from offering convenience and access to quality healthcare, DocsApp enables its users to buy medicines and book lab tests from the comfort of their homes. The seamless services that DocsApp offers have resulted in more than 3,000 people consulting doctors for various health-related problems on a daily basis at present. With a dedicated focus on growing its current scale of operations, DocsApp aims to provide 10,000 consultations per day by the end of 2018.
What makes the milestone more remarkable is the level of penetration, as well as the ease-of-usage, that DocsApp has achieved since its launch; over 60% of DocsApp users are from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. More than 3,000 doctors who are fluent in multiple languages have helped reduce the communication gap with regional patients by offering consultation in different languages. The app, too, is available in both English and Hindi, allowing patients to communicate, consult, and easily make use of DocsApp's superior healthcare services.
Eight percent of consultations on DocsApp start within 10 minutes, and all of them are 100% safe and private. Apart from primary healthcare needs and expert second opinions for chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiac ailments, arthritis and cancer, a lot of patients seek DocsApp's services for sexology, dermatology, gynecology, and psychiatry-related health concerns.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Satish Kannan, CEO and Co-Founder & CEO, DocsApp Medical App said, "Since the launch, our vision has been to provide on-demand and seamless access toquality healthcare for a much larger section of the Indian populace by facilitating expert medical consultations on the go. We have combined technology with medical expertise to serve more patients in less time, reaching out to them irrespective of their geographical locations. Our mobile app and web-based services have been instrumental in connecting patients to specialist doctors. What started off with 25 consultations in a day has now grown to 1 million consultations. Crossing this major landmark is the clear reflection of the efforts put in by our doctors, who work 24x7 to provide expert medical advice to the patients."
DocsApp adheres to the WHO's 3As: Availability, Affordability, and Accessibility. Today, the platform provides specialists' services for all age groups in over 19 specialities such as dermatology, gynaecology, sexology, paediatrics, general medicine, psychiatry, weight management etc. Given the shortage of qualified doctors and with around 97% specialists practising in metropolitan cities, DocsApp has helped bridge the physical distance between patients and specialist doctors through its platform. With its unwavering commitment to making healthcare accessible to all, DocsApp envisions completing 5 million consultations by 2020.
