Egg Freezing Still In Its Infancy

A miscarriage is not only a sign of an unhealthy womb but also an indication of emerging disease patterns that require being addressed.

Common Facts That Need To Be Addressed

Awareness about losing good-quality eggs in terms of quality and quantity is very low in couples and also family members. Due to this, many of them come for treatment at a very late stage and after several years of unsuccessful treatments.

Most Indian women suffer from bad quality eggs in their mid-20’s and late 30’s due to their genetic composition. This is in contrast to western countries where women are found to have good quality eggs even till they’re 35 years of age.

The egg freezing concept hasn’t yet taken off in India; there’s a need for not only creating awareness but also for providing advanced facilities with proper legal guidelines.

The concept of egg freezing was earlier restricted to only those women who suffered from cancer or were undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy or lupus patients. But now, it’s being recommended even to those women who want children at a later stage in their lives.

Age and fertility play a major role in a woman's life.     It’s very important to inform women that they’re born with a fixed number of egg sacs and most of them are lost before reaching puberty. That’s why optimum utilization of healthy eggs is crucial to childbirth.

Pregnancy termination is a very common practice in India. In the initial months of marriage, there are many women who terminate their pregnancies as they haven’t planned it. But they later have issues in conception and in the Indian scenario, it’s found to be a huge social problem.

Recurrent abortions are also one of the causes of infertility. If a woman has had miscarriages three or more times, proper evaluation is definitely required.
